IMPORT EXPORT MANAGEMENT

An Export and Import is a part of management. All these types of works are done by the export trader in a legal ways. All the companies or manufactures export and imports goods from one country to another foreign customer or companies, for these they require custom authorities. To do these types of jobs they require management’s candidate who better understand all these works.

Relationship Management:
Developed displays for a group of Brazilian companies and personally promoted their products in the leading department stores of Europe as Selfridges, Galeries Lafayette and La Rinascente , during 4 weeks in each department store and in each country.
Participated in trade shows, led Brazilian companies abroad (Paris at the Prêt-à-Porte, Madrid during the Madrid Fashion Week, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, New York – JANY Shows, Las Vegas – The JCK Show, Los Angeles, Miami – JIS Miami Show).
Promoted the companies in the press and developed connections to local Chambers of Commerce.
Initiated commercial conversations between Apex Brazil, the Indy Race Car Group and other sponsors, such as Macys and Target.

International Sales:
Managed product sales and supply throughout South America Market (Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela) as well as during the shows in New York and Miami, 3 times a year, during 3 years. Sales increased 100% in the period.
Annual participation in the Middle East at the Arabia Jewelry Show, with sales 30% above projected target.
Acted as a sales representative for three years in shows in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas.
Administered legal procedures on establishing a branch office in Florida, USA.

Educational:
One year studying English in Sydney-Australia at Uniworld College, 5 weeks of Spanish classes at Ibero Spanish School in Buenos Aires, and 4 weeks learning French in Paris at Accord Paris.

International Experiences

Argentina

My first contact with Argentina happened when I was working at Danielle Metais, more precisely in 2006. We used to participate in shows in Miami, FL, where people traveled to do business there, mainly from Buenos Aires. One of the main reasons to have clients from all Latin America in Miami, including Argentina, is because USA and Brazil has an agreement which helps with the import taxes that are highly charged in all Latin America, which means that there is no agreement between those countries.

During those 2 years that I worked at Danielle Metais I was often in contact with clients from Buenos Aires and managing their account, I was also meeting them personally in the shows in Miami or having them here in Brazil, sales in the company increased that time 100%.

Secondly, at the beginning of 2008, January, I spent 5 weeks in Buenos Aires improving my Spanish studying at Ibero Spanish School, it was such great experience, excellent teachers, good integration with the city and local culture. At that time I spent most of my time watching Argentinian’s movies, they are very good.

Australia

Sydney was my first international trip, and after traveling to many other different countries, today I can tell that Australia is the country of my heart! I just loved this experience, even I was there only for learning English, and now I can see how much I learned there. I made very good friends that are still in my life since 2000, after living 1 year there.

Unfortunately I haven’t started any business in this beautiful country.

Angola

In partnership with Africa Universal a brand located in Rio de Janeiro owned by an African eradicated here in Brazil we started doing business there. As the country is still in construction and people there needs more than products, and before selling there we started teaching them about Brazilian products to introduce our culture and to give them the image of every little thing that could make our products valued there.

Choosing the best products to fit their taste and providing promotional material that best integrated this project as a success in the future.

Bahrain

The first time I traveled to United Arab Emirates was in 2008, I was there to attend a show called Jewellery Arabia, as an exhibitor. I was so impressed how people there were nice and friendly. Bargaining there is the word, and I will never forget one of my best clients that passed by the window and found a very nice set and wanted me to sell her for a “peanut”, she came on the first day, on the second, trying as must as she could on getting the price she wanted to pay. On the third day I gave her a Brazilian sweet and told her: unfortunately I can’t give you the set for the price you want, but I am giving you this sweet to be a friend of you. After that, she came with all her sisters, they together made 70% of my sales in that show. It was amazing, if they feel comfortable and trust you, they can be closer to you, even they have their private life behind the black cover.

In November 2009 I was there again in the same show, It was nice having the opportunity to meet personally my best 2008 client and her sisters. But, this year the shines were to other client who felt in love with our product, our design and the beauty of our creativeness. She owns a clothe’s shop and wanted some news products in her store. We are still in contact trying to figure a special event in her store with only Brazilian products, I am waiting for the best time in the year, there are so many religious periods to respect.

Chile

Chile is one of the countries of Latin America, and as mentioned before taxation there is very hard which makes business difficulties, so we found the same solution working in the Miami show and here in Brazil. My best client from Chile is Mery Satt Joyas (http://www.merysattjoyas.cl/).

Ecuador

Joyería Guillermo Vazquez in Cuenca (http://www.guillermovazquezjoyeria.com/) we had a wonderful partnership, there we developed our brand in their chains of stores, as they were wholesale. We made many adds in the most respected magazines in the country. The sales in the company at that time increased 100%.

England

Selfridges is the most big and famous department store in London, here in the time of the big event Rio 40° we were there for almost one month displaying Brazilian products, in this such good event we could make Brazil appears on the media that brought back good relevant position in its market. One of the most exciting marketing done was a big Cristo they put at the entrance of the shop, trying to get as the one we have in Rio.


France

Galeries Lafayette is one of the oldest big and famous department store in Paris, here in the year of Brazil in France we were there for almost one month displaying Brazilian products, in this such good event we could make Brazil appears on the media that brought back good relevant position in its market.

After that we could bring Brazil again with Reed Exhibitions in Paris a group of 11 costume jewellery companies to exhibit during the Paris Prêt-à-Porter. This first participation of Brazilian companies was in 2006 they are still exhibiting there considering the good results of each show edition, which happens twice a year, in February and August.

And as a personal trip I spent 4 weeks in August 2008 learning French at Accord Paris, good school, very well integrated to the cooking courses.

Ireland

Italy

La Rinascente is one of the most big and famous department store in Milan, here in the year of 2006 we were there for almost one month displaying Brazilian products, in this such good event we could make Brazil appears on the media that brought back good relevant position in its market.

Rome, Venice and Firenze was a holiday trip only, I spent wonderful time in the museums, I ate very good food and drunk wonderful wines.

Peru

Here I had good partnership with Noriega Joyería which are one of the biggest, and I had also worked with the Ana Maria Llosa where we had a chance to make a Brazilian day in her store, for 3 days and had wonderful results on sales, and also made our product stronger in the market increasing year sales.

Russia

A contract of 3 years serving the most exigent client I have, and the biggest account too. It brought to the company excellent references on product pricing and quality in the international market. It helped with the perfectioning manufacture product process, it is a part of company’s internationalization which gives us powerfull to be better located in the global market.

Spain

During the Madrid Fashion Week in July 2006 we were there exhibiting Brazilian products in the multsectoral Trade Fair that was happening in the same period. At that time the big El Corte Ingles was in contact with all companies and they started doing business to have Brazilian products in its chain in Spain.

United States

Chicago – During the Indy Race Car last August (2009) I was in the Apex (The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) motorcoach meeting and making business in its such great event. We started conversations about having Brazilians products in a chain as Target stores, Macys, and some others contact that could be done by the integration of Indy sponsors.

Las Vegas

Institutionally I was 3 times exhibiting at The JCK Las Vegas Show, the biggest show in the USA, hardly we developed the Brazilian companies by adding in the most important trade magazines, in the JCK Magazine each year we made a special report inside the magazine linking the beauty of our products to the nature we have in our country.

Considering that I was in charge of the pavilion, I was there to meet journalists to provide them all info about the sector and giving all information and images to make us appear in the local media. Also, I was there to be linked to the governments representatives which were most from commerce chambers, bureaus, councils, consulate, etc.

And as a sales person from industry I was there another 3 years selling products, making new clients, developing the brand, contacting people, increasing sales.

Los Angeles

Institutionally I was once in the show developing the Brazilian companies. Considering that I was in charge of the pavilion, I was there to meet journalists to provide them all info about the sector and giving all information and images to make us appear in the local media. Also, I was there to be linked to the governments representatives which were most from commerce chambers, bureaus, councils, consulate, etc.

And as a sales person from industry I was there once again selling products, making new clients, developing the brand, contacting people, increasing sales.

Miami

Institutionally I was exhibiting at The JIS Miami Show three times a year, during 3 years, hardly we developed the Brazilian companies by adding in the most important trade magazines, we were in the JQ Magazine each edition.

Considering that I was in charge of the pavilion, I was there to meet journalists to provide them all info about the sector and giving all information and images to make us appear in the local media. Also, I was there to be linked to the governments representatives which were most from commerce chambers, bureaus, councils, consulate, etc.

And as a sales person from industry I was there another 3 years selling products, making new clients, developing the brand, contacting people, increasing sales.
Establishment of a Branch company office’s, direct contact with Lawyer to get the rights to do business in USA, in Florida, as a LLC Company, direct contact with accountant officer, hiring people and research for finding desired partners and prospect clients.

New York

Institutionally I was 3 times exhibiting at The JANY Show, during 3 years, hardly we developed the Brazilian companies by adding in the most important trade magazines.

Considering that I was in charge of the pavilion, I was there to meet journalists to provide them all info about the sector and giving all information and images to make us appear in the local media. Also, I was there to be linked to the governments representatives which were most from commerce chambers, bureaus, councils, consulate, etc.

And as a sales person from industry I was there another 2 years selling products, making new clients, developing the brand, contacting people, increasing sales.

Sedona

Here I have the best client ever, Renee Taylor Art Fine Gallery, with its client we crossed the borders of trade shows, we were there twice doing a Brazilian show in her gallery, we provided add in local magazine, flyers were posted to the mailing list, people were welcomed by nice champagne and other specialties.

United Arab Emirates

Abu Dhabi

Institutionally I was 3 times exhibiting at The JANY Show, during 3 years, hardly we developed the Brazilian companies by adding in the most important trade magazines.

Dubai

And as a sales person from industry I was there once selling products, making new clients, developing the brand, contacting people, increasing sales. Started by a consultant mailing list I surprisingly had 8 appointments, including Damas the biggest chain in the Middle East.


Uruguay and Paraguay

Surprisingly those two countries members of the Mercosul integrated by them and Argentina and Brazil I have to mention that they were the hardest custom, for sending merchandise to them we have to provide specific reports, origin certificate, and many other special documentation not required in countries in Europe and USA.
